Turing Scheme - Subsidised Overseas Opportunities

For the last two years we have secured funding through the Turing Scheme to run educational visits to Tanzania, Thailand, Peru, Panama and Nepal. These included opportunities to work within schools and education settings or to embark on ecological projects for example working in an elephant sanctuary. Students also had the opportunity to visit key tourist sites such as Machu Picchu in Peru, Bankok in Thailand and a safari in Tanzania. 

This year we have received funding for a further three trips to Cambodia, Uganda and Nepal. These trips will leave in July for 14 nights in partnership with Challenges Abroad. There are 63 places across the three trips and each trip will be accompanied by 3 staff. Trips are heavily subsidised, so successful students will only have to contribute part of the cost of the trip and carry out some additional fundraising as a team. Support will be given with fundraising ideas. 

The Turing Scheme is coming to an end in 2027 and being replaced by the Erasmus+ scheme. We will be applying for funding from Erasmus to continue our global citizenship programme beyond the coming year.
