Turing Scheme - Overseas Opportunities
We have secured funding via the Turing Scheme to offer a very exciting new opportunity for 2024 which we hope to continue to offer in future years.
We have partnered with Challenges Abroad to run three trips, next July, available to Year 12 and 13 this year. The trips will run from Friday 4th July until Saturday 19th/Sunday 20th (depending on flight times).
There are 18 places per trip (plus 2 reserves) and students will be accompanied by 3 staff. Trips are heavily subsidised, so successful students will only have to contribute £600 (tbc) towards the trip and fundraise an additional £100 towards the community projects. Support will be given with fundraising ideas.
The three trips for this academic year are:
Peru
Includes two weeks working in a local school, doing community projects. On the middle weekend, there will be an incredible visit to the breath-taking Machu Picchu.
Tanzania
Involves two weeks working in a local school, doing community projects. On the middle weekend, there will be a safari day and a day learning about local cultures.
Thailand
Comprises one week working in a local hill tribe school, doing community projects. Through the second week, students will volunteer at an elephant nature park.
