STEPS - encouraging politeness
Politeness and courtesy are important whatever the situation. A friendly "good morning" can lift any person's day and everybody enjoys being thanked for a job well done. These are simple actions we expect from all Copleston students. Part of our role as educators is to teach students good manners and how to interact with adults and with one another. Students have embraced this enthusiastically and staff and students greet one another when entering and leaving classrooms and buildings and when passing in the corridor. Both students and staff have commented on the positive environment that this creates. We also encourage students to thank their teachers at the end of each lesson or when they have done something that has helped them - and we ask them to do the same for each other too.
"I like that all the teachers greet you at the door. It almost makes you want to come to school more often, and the lunch ladies are very friendly and are willing to help." Year 7 student
