Early Help
The Copleston safeguarding team works with a number of local agencies to support students and their families through difficult times. They are trained to deal with emergencies or incidents as they arise, but an important aspect of their work is to take preventative action to try to reduce the number of these incidents. At Copleston, we have a number of strategies in place to achieve this. The team receive regular training and updates so that they are aware of any wider safeguarding issues that might arise, either nationwide or specific to the local area. They can then take action to ensure that our young people are educated as to the risks, or can put additional support in place. They also offer practical help to support students and families who may be struggling but not yet in need of significant support. This all forms part of our "early help" provision. You can see examples of these below. If you feel your child or your family needs additional support, please contact the safeguarding team at Copleston who will do what they can to help or will signpost you to appropriate sources of support.
