Careers Information for Students
Whatever stage you are at with your career decisions, we can provide resources to help you, both in school and on this website.
I don't have any idea what career I am interested in:
Start by thinking about the subjects and activities you enjoy. There are online quizzes you can do to find out what career you are best suited to. Talk to parents/carers, teachers, form tutors and friends to find out what you are good at. There are lots of general websites to support you with this on our Careers Links page.
Come along to one of our Careers and Cake lunchtime careers events
Consider booking a careers interview via our IAG team or speak to your form tutor
I have a possible career area in mind but I'd like to explore it further and find out more about it
Use our Useful Careers Links page to explore careers of interest to you.
Speak to our IAG team to find out more.
Speak to subject teachers linked to your area of interest, who may have experience or knowledge that can help you
Think about how you might arrange Work Experience in this area. Speak to us to see how we can help with this. There are age limits for certain types of work experience.
I have decided on my career route and I am ready to take the next steps
If you know how to apply for the next step in your career route, whether this is Sixth Form, college, university, apprenticeships etc. you are ready to get started. However, you need to make your application as polished and professional as it can be. Check out the links for advice about CVs, covering letters, UCAS personal statements and interview skills. See our sections on post-16 providers, post-18 pathways and apprenticeship information.
